Just watched this colossal rebar cage rise to the top - almost seems like science fiction to see something so huge float up so effortlessly:

(again, click the pics for full size...)

Awesome!

It's approximately the height of the planned Silverstein Tower @ 520 W 41st Street & aprox 50' taller than Verre set to start soon.

If you freaks think this is tall now... Wait until it tops out and really see the kind of impact 432 Park will have in the skyline.

From Kanto's chart, I estimated that the height is just below the mech floor of 1 WTC and amazingly has this much to go to top off.

It will be a big difference.

So, now it's at about 1100 feet. It would make about 300 feet more to go.

I just caught a lightning strike on 432 Park avenue cam! It struck right on the buidling itself!

If you're intrested, this is how I caught it...

Here's the cam

open this website up. (Its a website that records every lightning strike live.) Watch the map til you see one hit near new york and quickly switch to the webcam and because the camera has a longer delay, you will catch it! Currently, the storm is west which is where the camera is facing.

Edit: Resfresh the cam every 5 minutes though..

Just curious, how much higher is the crane than the core of the building? Is it about 100 feet higher?

Here's a rough estimate of it's final height. Hopefully im correct! Had to look up many renders to double check that I didn't add extra floors because it just looked way too tall.

Well, based on my highly scientific window-counting method, I'd say it's about 8 windows above the perimeter and 6 windows above the core. Since I believe the windows are about 10' (3 m) square, that puts the cab of the crane about 80' (24 m) above the perimeter, and 60' (18 m) above the core:
