It's funny that you still remember to come here and bash this building once in awhile.

It's funny how ridiculously defensive you people get when someone has an opposing opinion you don't like.

An update from various locations around East Midtown and from Central Park, during daytime and night.

Despite the fact that I love tall buildings, I really wish it would stop growing now. At the moment it already has a major impact on the skyline, but it is still not the focal point of it.

Not only is it now getting more disproportionate with every additional meter, but the focal point of any skyline should be a true landmark building (such as the ESB or Chrysler Building), not a boring box.

It's going to have plenty of company soon. I wouldn't worry about it.

My favourite skyscraper in NYC. The only negative aspect is the low number of floors ( 89 ). I hope that this building will go to 500 meters and over 100 floors !!!!

Wow, the way 432 and ESB stand in the picture above with the silhouette of the Manhattan skyline almost makes the skyline look smaller than it really is. What a strange illusion. While the skyline is absolutely enormous and horizontally expanse, both those two towers suddenly make the other buildings look like mediocre highrises in a medial and compact space, even though they are truly mammoth and monumental towers spread in a vast mountainside.

Does anyone else see this or am I the only one?

I wouldn't fret over it. In 30 years buildings like 432 will be considered "average" in height for Manhattan skyscrapers. Eventually it will become lost in the Manhattan cliffs of towers as the 21st century moves on and a new generation of supertalls become the normal plateau for the skyline.

This will be a NY icon unlike all the dime-a-dozen 19th century shacks you find everywhere in the city. This will have photos taken all the time unlike some random Art Deco mid rises basically everywhere. No other building in the city looks like this, so what is more forgettable?
