I was in New York last weekend on vacation (first time!) and took a few photos of 432 Park Avenue. It was much bigger than i thought, it really is starting to dominate the NY skyline. Its also no where near as thin (or clean/white) as i thought. Here are a few photos;

When completed, it will have the tallest roof height in NYC and maybe the western hemisphere.

That'll be a pretty short time, because 225 West 57th Street will be complete by 2018 I believe. But good enough...

Four years is pretty good in this day and age. It will only have the tallest roof height in NYC. The Willis Tower roof height is a little higher.

You are correct and 3 years(holding the crown) in NY is Historical, but it will not overtake Sear's/Willis. So no Western hemi.
Sorry, posted 1 min after you

Thanks for pointing that out. Had you not told us this, none of us would have ever figured it out.

I think this building looks more impressive when viewed from further away, especially from Central Park.

I was in NYC Sunday afternoon and this thing is massive on the skyline, especially coming in from the north like from Westchester County. And crossing over the TZ Bridge, the only things that stand out are this tower, ESB, and 1 WTC...truly incredible. Don't know if I would call it ugly, but definitely unique and it adds height and variety to the skyline, which is always nice IMO

Ugly or not is just a matter of taste.

Allthough is massive size is more apparent further away, I also like the combination of rugged concrete and massive glass panels.
