Concrete seems to be whiter at the top. Could just be due to photographic effect, or does it have something to do with the concrete blend? Crown concrete is likely to be lighter then the heavy duty stuff at the bottom of the tower... Anyone who knows?

If you really want to see the best view of this tower - take a ride north on FDR from around Houston street. Once the highway bends toward 23 street you will get an excellent view of this tower. I need to take a camera and take a picture from that particular place. Despite the loss of Drake hotel, which I loved, I have to say that this tower is coming up pretty good.

The glass is well protected. Panels of this size must be quite expensive anyway

The building was constructed with the same concrete with the same color. However the lower floors are darker because they have been constructed longer ago which allows dirt and dust to setlle on it; giving it a darker color. Its the same situation with the glass on the world trade center, which allows some glass panels to appear different from others.

So when 432 PA tops out, it will be the 3rd tallest building in the US right? Behind One World Trade and Willis Tower?

Pinnacle height yes, roof height it'll be second

Also good to see after coming back from holiday that this has risen again making this tower 396.8m or 1,301.8 feet

I have enjoyed this one over the summer. So, I'll give it a rerun - after all, it features the 432 Park Ave building.
