Those power lines kind of ruin the view.

The crane jumped late yesterday, so we should hopefully see a core see today!

That picture with the power lines... Lol it kinda reminds me of Los Angeles. Ever wonder what Manhattan would look like with the mountains as a backdrop and palms on the foreground... Hmm

How many of these apartments or condos will be full time residents? Like 2% probably?

Funny. I think hose powerlines make it a brilliant picture. As you can see in the fast photoshop, removing them reduces it to just slightly above average.

I wish I could find the source but the amount of absentee owners in buildings like this and One57 is somewhat overhyped. It's something like just over a third, the rest being your run of the mill multimillionaires. No doubt a third is a lot but it won't be totally empty.

Btw, I quite like the the powerlines in that one photo. It's gritty and little bit cyberpunk. NYC isn't all just gleaming skyscrapers

Yeah, I don't know why some people dislike the powerlines in that picture.

Obviously those powerlines, along with the skyline, are the subject of that picture. I guess the photographer could take a picture of the skyline without the powelines just by walking a bit, but then it would have been just another skyline picture as there are many. But including that spiderweb of powerlines was made by choice and is what makes that picture different and interesting.

I am pretty sure that place is kind of dull, unappealing and ugly when you are actually there, but that is the magic of photography, the ability to convert such place in something interesting, even taking some beauty out of it.

Off topic, but I think it is worthed to post some other urban-themed pictures of the same photographer, to show how just with a different point of view you cant turn something ordinary in something more extraordinary.
I am posting the pictures in a small size, if you like them you can click the link to see the original picture. Just a few of many.

This is pretty good, the picture is upside-down with the image of Williamsburg bridge reflected in a puddle, the runner and the orange thing make it even more attractive.
