The B&W shots are from a very prominent photographer. I'm pretty sure he has some expertise in the matter too.

IMO the criticisms of the photographer are not unlike the criticisms of the tower. People who don't like modernism criticizing a modernist tower. People who don't like B&W criticizing B&W. Ok, and, what's the point?

Had recently seen a debate on more french fries skyscrapers in NYC. I don't see what the fuzz is all about. This is one good addition to the NYC skyline.

Oh, I certainly did! Looks like he's using a Canon 7D Mark I + 24-70 2.8 and stitching, damn good! I kept thinking he was using a TS-E 17...
(Disclaimer: I own Canon gear)

What do you mean? It appears to take in most of NYC skyscrapers.

I meant it's not even close to the whole city in general, not just the skyscrapers.

Pretty much just Long Island City in Queens is there, a lot of Brooklyn but not most of it, none of the colossal Bronx, and none of the Upper West Side, Harlem, or the rest of Upper Manhattan.

It's just crazy to think of how dense and expansive the city is in the pano and to know that that's not even the whole city.

It's amazing how you can see this tower, south of Central Park, at the northern tip of Central Park.

FYI, I just filmed something in black & white.

The point is that we're all on this forum to share info and opinions about architecture and the photos thereof. I have stated my opinion. It comes from a place of knowledge and experience.

Of course you're welcome to your opinion.

This building is obviously a skyline changer and will be an indelible part of the shape of the skyline for decades to come, if not longer. I appreciate it for what it is... I just wish it were something a little more special architecturally. If you look at is as a silhouette, it's a box. If you look at ESB, Chrsyler and others as silhouettes, they are unmistakeably those buildings. That's what I wish this were.
