This building has a modernist form, same as probably 90% of highrises on earth. Are 90% of highrises "chimneys" or "smokestacks"?

And it doesn't even make any sense, as most smokestacks are circular and taper at the top, while this building is angular and has no taper.

Even square chimneys 99% of the time have an overhang at the top or even a pyramid covering.

This tower is amazing and must be seen in person. Also, it will be quite glossy when the plastic film is removed from the windows.

Seriously. I'm still not fond of the building's design, but comparing it to a smokestack is like the silliest criticism ever.

I like this tower. Its design is understated, and certainly an example of function over form, but there is nothing ugly about it. Having said that, I would like it better if it had some interesting architectural feature at the top instead of just ending so bluntly.

Well, whether you love it or hate it, I'm pretty sure everyone would agree this building has really made an impact on the skyline.

It does. But even much taller towers will rise here soon.

Sorry that was a BIG typo. Stupid autocorrect. In fact, I specifically checked to see it said sunrise, so thank you for pointing that out.

True. Large windows are present in minimalism, but this building has nothing to do with it. A few hundred large windows doesn't make it minimalistic at all. It's all about the scale and the impact of the whole compostition. Just imagine these beautiful villas and one museum multiplied by 104 floors. Still attractive? No. Just boring.

It's about the clean lines and beauty of the grid, the purity of the square. Especially if you're looking upwards from the base you can see the minimalism.

No, but it is straight and clen design coupled with large windows, which make the tower narrower than it is.

It present a minimalist future with clean white, symmetrical lines and large windows, compared to the width of the building.

The only thing to hate about this tower is the bare concrete. Some natural stone had easily made it 10 times better

There is hardly any words that can do justice to it.
Still, in lack of anything better, you get this video (repost, from this summer) with a 432 Park Ave/NYC "praise song", where the camera occasional zooms in
on the spectacular 432 Park Ave.
