The point is not how much it sways, but how fast it sways. More precise, to how much accelaration will the inhibitans be exposed.

Hell's Kitchen, as it's also called, is a little island of low-rise buildings. I doubt that'll change any time soon.

Right. I'm an idiot. So as long as it's gradual, five feet shouldn't be a big deal.

...but if you're standing next to a top floor window when it occurs to you that (in a sense anyway) you're jutting out 5 feet over a 1400 foot drop, it might induce a whole other kind of vertigo.

Some pics from this morning...was traveling for a few days, came home to see the flags are down, a few more windows are in, and the drums are starting to get fleshed out (click on pics for full-size):

And, here's the view from above on Monday morning:

I'm honestly kind of sad to see construction on this wrapping up. It was fun to see it grow floor by floor. But I am excited to see them take off that black scaffolding on top and finally get the full effect.

Think of it this way - we're getting ready for at least three more like it.

Some images I've taken with my phone over the last few days in various light and weather, working over at 299 Park. Repeat: credit is mine.

It's crazy that you almost cannot see such a tall building from that far away standing in the middle of a huge park next to the lake
