It really makes Manhattan's skyline more cyberpunk, doesn't it.

No, there are three confirmed towers taller than 432 Park in Midtown, and probably more on their way. One Vanderbilt, 225 W. 57, and 111 W. 57 are all taller than 432 Park.

Then there's Shvo Tower, all the Hudson Yards and Grand Central sites, and a number of 57th Street development sites.

Sorry, I find Moskou, Tokyo and Dubai much more cyberpunk looking

I find this to be such a strange, incongruous building... so narrow and square, yet so tall! It reminds me of one or two similar buildings they were throwing up a while back in Dubai... but without the arab bling finish. Not been on this forum in ages and I'm not sure this had got above the rooftops last time I saw it. It's almost a kind of anti-architecture, like they built the central concrete service shaft of some much larger building and then thought, sod it, let's just fill the service space with apartments and make 'em take the stairs! I find it oddly self-indulgent...

[Edit] - love the above picture

I agree, it reminds me of what they threw up in Dubai during the past decade. Fits those buildings to a T. Tall, residential, and targeted for a wealthy and mostly international market. But they left it simple and didn't pollute the sides of the building with balconies which gives it a cleaner, more visually appealing look.

You two should get a room in the "reminds me of Dubai" forums.

Have to see it in real life I guess, but not really a fan of this...makes Central park less dramatic as all the others now look so small. Hopefully the view will change quickly with the new supertalls planned, but I have always loved central park with the backdrop it's had for the last decade.

It's true that this and the future 400+ towers will make the existing towers seem smaller, but when you are standing in front of such a 'smaller' tower you will understand how big the supertalls really are.

That is something I would like to experience. In Europe we find 100m towers gigantic, but in New York this is only a house of cards, ready to be crushed by 600m + giants, and even in the east 600m is considered small these days. It's very hard to comprehend.

I agree. I just meant Manhattan is now more cyberpunk than it was before 432 came along.

It looks a lot better in real life and a bunch of other buildings in the area will be going up within the next 5 years so they will really compliment 432 and help balance everything out so it wont look like just one tall building sticking out.

I wish Verre wasn't cut down in size so it would also be part of that group of skyline-changers, but sadly I don't think it will be that visible from Central Park.

It will still be very visible. 300m is quite tall.

I love it. Simple but majestic, towering above all of its neighbours.

Was out of town for the past week - came home to find a bit more of the gift wrapping removed from the top, and a couple new windows installed (click pics to see full size):

In most cities, Park Ave Tower would be among the tallest and best towers in the skyline. Here is a drop in the ocean.
