Besides it looks like a higher-up is visiting the site right now, next to the construction cabin.

As you can see in the cam they are now forming the second half of the main retaining wall along 56 Street and the retaining wall behind the two remaining townhouses clearly staying (Turnbull and Asser)(Jacobs &Co) the small building to the west of 57 next to Victoria Secret looks like it is staying as well...being actively occupied at least on the upper floors, ground level is vacant...A total of 5 townhouses are being removed...once the retaining wall on 56th is complete look for blasting to move north towards 57th

I took a few phone shots today...not very good but give some idea of the street view right now. They were back filling the retaining wall along 56 and continuing demo of the last townhouses. I will try to get some real camera pics in a few days with a broader view. first picture is looking through from 56 st all the others are 57th starting east to west

This is weird I went to create an album and I cannot find the link in user CP to create album or gallery
Can anyone help me out here?

^ Just use an image hosting service (I can recommend: IMGUR) and grab the link in the middle (BBCode (message boards & forums)).

Because it'd cause a lot of copyright issues, bandwidth and the likes.

Thank you for uploading! What a pity they've torn down such picturesque old buildings - and the ugly ones seem to remain there.

the answer is probably as simple as because of huge hardware and bandwidth resources needed for such option. But still, I would love this site having its own picture storage. Some weeks ago I was looking trough some old topic from I think back 2003 or something. It was construction of one of Warsaw skyscrapers and till now maybe one or two pictures survived

Only one of the buildings was really picturesque, the old Turnbull... the new Turnbull is also quite nice....the Jacob building and little Fashion building are ugly and should go...but they do not look like they are. There are still hundreds if not thousands of beautiful Townhouses in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Had a nice chat with the doorman at the Four Seasons while shooting these.

Yes indeed, you should be glad that you can see at least 2 pics, usually there is nothing to see. Unfortunately but true.

Today they are pouring more of main retaining wall along 56th. Recyclers
were loading bricks and steel demoed from the townhouses on 57th.
Hole is gotten much bigger..looks to be full depth all along 56th.

Today they are pouring more of main concrete retaining wall along 56th.
Recyclers were loading bricks and steel demoed from the townhouses on 57th.
Hole is gotten much bigger..looks to be full depth all along 56th.
Trucks are hauling a lot of material from the site.

They are removing the fencing behind the townhouses so they can start moving the excavating farther north (towards 57)

At last they did it. That old angle was quite useless - i was always interested whats going in the center of the plot.
