Love the new orange and blue building being built in New York City. I always find myself snapping photos of the striped-in-construction-building whenever I see a fun angle #nyc #goldenhour #sunset #architecture #urbanexplore by heyitszak, on Flickr

I thought I'd be against these new pencil towers, but this one is appealing, if not a little bland.

I can see why some people don't like this tower but I think it's very beautiful and elegant in all it's simplicity.

Take this picture, measure it tip-to-tail and then round-the-waist. Using a not-so-complicated pythagorean technique, i found it to be at around 31.4 meters 30th floor onwards.
Not so correct, but you know, that's just a fast and a really easy method.

With this building New York has lost the harmony that Chicago is still proudly preserving.

I think we are seeing how New York is quietly stepping into a Hong Kong like phase. I just hope it doesn't last too long.

Screw that! Build 'em tall.

(Sorry, I was going for the comedy thing at your expense. I apologize.)

New York City has to build these because of the small plots. And Hong Kong has some of the best looking super slim towers (Highcliff), It would be worse if they decided to build an endless wall of a concrete 200m high commieblock.

For now. And no, there'll be no seas of 40 story concrete apartments in Manhattan, ever. What we're getting are billion dollar prestige developments. Quite a difference from land starved Hong Kong (hint: leveling industrial land for skyscrapers is way easier than building them on mountains)

There's no such thing as harmony in the New York skyline. There never was. The skyline is so massive it literally absorbs very tall skyscrapers. 432 PA will have company soon enough.

I look forward to seeing this little PoS on the east of the retail base coming down.
