In case you didn't get the dimensions of Central Park from the post above, the Park is about 2.5 miles (4 km) long and .5 miles (0.8 km) wide, for a total area of 1.317 square miles (1.8 sq km). That equates to 843 acres.

Remember that it is not the same factor to convert linear miles to km than to convert Sq miles to sq kilometers.

1 mile = 1.609 kilometer
but 1 sq mile = 2.59 sq km. (1.609 x 1.609)
and 1 cubic mile = 4.17 cubic km. (1.609 x 1.609 x 1.609)

So, if the Central Park is 1.317 sq miles, that is 3.411 sq kilometers.

И нафига её такой тонкой и длинной сделали? Складывается ощущение, что она вот-вот упадёт!

Google Translate...

This is the angle I think I like the most. My problem with many of the straight-on angles is the grid which, with its strong horizontality, detracts from the soaring verticality of the tower.

From this low angle, the squareness of the grid is only clearly delineated at the bottom of the tower; and as you go further up, you lose sense of the horizontal lines and start to see the tower in terms of seven thick vertical stripes. It may be an illusion, but it evokes some of the very best Midcentury modern facades.

It's enough to make me wish Viñoly had made the horizontal bands thinner in proportion to the vertical ones, so this effect would be seen from all angles.
