Speaking of the drums, I like how, months before this design was released, Walpole posted that the design would be like " the Little Drummer Boy goes to Cuba." Drums! Cubes! I miss that guy!

Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing. I initially assumed the drums would be concrete, but the fact that they're clad in metal is actually a nice touch. It adds a third materiality to the slick concrete-and-glass of the 6 "mini-towers," helping to further break them up visually.

I just hope it's more shiny/reflective after the nets come down and the sun is hitting them, to accentuate the effect.
