Wow, that makes an even bigger difference than I'd imagined. Let's hope they keep them on so we can see some night shots!

The drums are at least as bright as ESB's crown.

From my bedroom window (02/17/2016):

It's pretty sweet looking out my window. Wow, can't wait to see more pictures pop up!

Edit: One thing I noticed is how bright these are in comparison to the windows on the crown (upper 2 floors with the LED lighting around the frames). I'm guessing the crown wasn't meant to really stand out and more blend in (and look like resident lights?

I'm guessing that your view from LIC is pretty similar to mine - have you noticed how it's always the same 5 windows on the top two levels that have those lights? Do you think that's intentional...?

The crown is definitely intended to mimic the other windows to keep up the appearance of the 12x floor pattern.

That looks pretty cool. Seems awfully bright for anyone living across the street from one of the lower ones though.

Do we think they will be lit constantly?

OK, it may disappoint some from a design point of view but for me I just find it incredible that such a tall, thin, structure just doesn't blow over. Does it have a pendulum within it?

An incredible technical feat.

Admittedly, I like that illumination scheme. Skeptical about how often this occurs though, and then again it only looks like that at night.

It's a nice change from all these overly fussy designs.
Also agree on the remarks above, it really is incredible.
