On the far end of the pit.

Looks like most of the excavation is done now.

One of the big cranes left the pit

But that means we're moving towards the next phase in the building progress

From some of the renderings I've seen it looks kind of retro in a sense. It is just so slender though. Maybe they should call it the SlimFast Tower! I suppose we'll have to wait and see how it turns out. Hard to believe this will end up being the second highest in the city. Definitely will make a contrast to WTC 1.

Yes, large crane of site now and looks as though they are pouring some slabs now...may be some kind of catch basins as the other day those locations were pools of water...things are rolling

Yeah sure, let's spoil the most famous skyline of the world with some boxy concrete stack that'll only show its ugly face once it's finished...

Another KPI webcam image. Looks to me like the crane is working on the retaining wall. There are also cement trucks.

The exterior is not concrete. It's metal and glass. Write to Vinoly. His address is on his website.

I like how the developer is sort of concealing this project. Once people start to notice the impact this building will have, it will already be half way up!

Thank you, this is exactly how I feel. Its way too thin for its height.

Look at this pic

It is an eyesore...

The Twin towers were boxes, and they looked great, but that's because they were big and imposing.

I think this tower will be accepted once it's built, but we should WAIT for a final design before making up our minds, there isn't a final design out yet.
