Is that guy standing on a 20ft tall scissor-lift, leaning over the edge, 1000'+ in the air?

If they are going to sell the penthouse for $100 Million+, the interior had better be as pristine and incredible as possible!

The Hive: Drone Skyscraper

second place in eVolo's 2016 skyscraper competition... would you believe me if I said first place was something even crazier for NYC?

Quote:
[...]
The Hive is an infrastructure project that can better meet the emerging demand for incorporating advanced Drone technology into daily life in New York City. The project was proposed as an alternative asset argument for the usage of the land on 432 Park Avenue, the project aims to create a central control terminal that hosts docking and charging stations for personal or commercial drones (unmanned aerial vehicles) in the center of Manhattan.

It would be stupid to place something like this when you have 3 major airports not far. There already more than enough problems already with drones flying next to airports and in the city.

This thing looks like a total monster from the GE roof deck in person, can't imagine the impact the upcoming towers will have!

Luckily year after year eVolo makes sure that the winner is not an actual skyscraper design but some wacky harebrained proposal that's not only ugly and unnecessary but also is physically impossible to build.
