The description on this shot by Cisco says it was taken on July 6th, and has the lowest mechanical drum lit up. Can anyone confirm whether they've seen this recently? Would love to know if they're starting to light up or at least do further lighting tests on the mech floors. This thing will only truly look complete when they fire those babies up.

From my view (corner of 1st Ave and 57th Street), the lowest drum is blocked by other buildings, but I do have a fairly clear view of the rest of them. If any of them have been lit up recently, I haven't seen it. If time (and laziness) permits, I'll take a walk over there tonight and see if the lowest one does happen to be lit up. Hope so - honestly, I'm getting impatient (and the night view when the drums were lit up was the only thing about this building that my wife reluctantly admitted was "actually kind of beautiful".)

For the record, here's the building as of this morning:

And here are top to bottom close ups (click for full size window peeking fun):

Great detail shot, thanks! Looks like there will be permanent metal guardrails on the mechanical floors. Slight downgrade from the glass railings depicted in one of the early renders, but not a big deal since you'll barely notice them at a distance -- and they're probably safer than glass anyway.

End of webcam

As of yesterday, the website for 432 Park Avenue has been changed to a new one promoting the availability of units within (only a few very high-priced apartments), and so, my nearly every-day viewing of this building as it rose has come to an end.

I had saved screen-shots nearly every day, sometimes multiple times a day (what a nice distraction from work!!), watching the work from the excavation phase, through foundation construction, superstructure construction using the Doka climbing form system for core and exterior, using structural concrete for core and floor slabs, and white concrete for exterior spandrels and columns, installation of glazing and finally, preparation of the building forecourt, the last operation viewable via the 56 Street cam, which went offline last week.

What made this a fun building for me (besides it being built in my hometown), was that for an architectural and construction fan, this was fun to see it rise in real time. To my knowledge, nobody else ran a live webcam of a supertall under construction like 432 Park Avenue. It was also fun on the Skyscrapercity forum, and contributing to the post now and then.

With 432 PA essentially complete, it's time to move on, and enjoy the continuing changing face of NYC!!

Hi guys.
I'm a spaniard who is visitting NYC for the first time, it's so damn cool to be able to post construction updates on a building here .

Here you are, 432 park as seen yesterday from my home exchange condo, the angle is pretty weird for midtown but it's cool.

Mmm it was my first time uploading pics to the site, how do you do it to make them visible and not to appear as a link?

Finally got my lazy ass over there in the dark......no sign of any glowing drums at any level. I think the two lit-up floors visible in that picture might actually be about six floors below the first drum (see below). Here's the view from the sidewalk around 9pm tonight (click pics for full size):

Here's the retail space facing 57th Street:

The view from 56th Street, with some rather flamboyant chandeliers visible through the windows:

Shoot, I think you're probably right about that. Hopefully we see them turned on soon. I would just hate for the defining lighting feature of this tower to remain forever darkened, as seems to be the fate of One57.
