Watching them how fast they working on those walls, seems that actual construction isn't far away!

I'm certain that somebody addressed this, but this building sticks out like a sore thumb.

Tons of people have mentioned that, but a lot of people don't care that it is lacking architectural style, since it's tall..

We don't know what it looks like yet. We just know it's going to be really skinny.

We know quite a lot about the actual look already, the structural facade, the flat roof, the boxy shape... All of that says nothing but: Sore thumb, indeed.

It is skinnier than those found in Dubai, so it is unique and won't be just one of many. It also is amazing in its beautiful simplicity. I love its height, but I love its design too

There are many unique but still buttugly buildings in the world, so uniqueness ain't much of a criteria here.

It's so stupid... It should hurt.

Edit: I may have made it a little too tall, but oh well.

You're absolutely right, there are very many buildings that are unique but hideous. However, this is not the case of 432 Park. I think it looks incredible in the pic you posted

You are right, next they should build a giant 800m equilateral triangle, and to make it better they should put it right next to the ESB, so people can forget about that ugly art deco building...

Why don't you guys listen to Erbse he knows what he is talking about

I have not problem with its height, but the thin shape combined with this extreme height makes it very different from the other towers.
If this one is built as the design above, I would like to see more supertalls nearby.

Exactly it's the combination of extreme height and thin shape that makes this building so atrocious. I loved the World Trade Center, but that was because they were massive towers that were a symbol of NYC, and also had a great facade.

But unlike your Belgian UFO wave style triangle, 432 Park is not blocking any Landmark tower in any major way

Yeah, but its height overshadows the ESB. This building is probably the most boring architecturally in history. It's like the architect said, " What should this look like ? He drew a thin but tall square to get started, but got bored and walked away." That is all the thinking that was required to design this building, and to make matters worse, the facade is also ugly.

When the Twin Towers overtook the Empire State Building, they were setting a message, to be New York's two guardians. This building will overtake the Empire State building, but for what reason? Nothing. It's just a random stick. No meaning or thought behind it. It'll never see the attention that was once given to the ESB and the WTC.

Couldn't they atleast add some setbacks ? Even in MS pain I was able to make this quick drawing to show how it could look better. I have part of it in white to accentuate the setbacks

This isn't suppose to look good, it's just a quick representation to show how 432 Park could look better.

That's not better, that's worse. Such a setback and a spire would make it ugly like those Dubai residential towers. The architect used squares because they are the most beautiful architectural shape that exists

Actually, and I think squares are very beautiful, it would seem that they used a very simple form to maximise the leasable area. I cannot believe that such a building can be designed with anything but profit in mind.
