While the parapet seems to be two floors deep, it still doesn't seem deep enough to contain all the elevator mechanism, which is why I thought three floors were mechanical.

Fake lighting makes sense. I've always felt the top of the building was a little stark, unfinished. A lighted sconce might have been nice.

But it's a great photo.

Too bad they didn't make a roof top deck and garden. They could have built a floor right over those air conditioning units so that the roof deck is the top floor. That way the walls could protect the people from the wind, and the great windows are already there. They could still do this and it would be the most phenomenal roof top garden in New York.

It's been a while since I've posted updated 'top to bottom' shots from my vantage point at 57th St and 1st Ave. Although the building is officially 'complete', there are still very few signs of actual human habitation...

These shots are from around 9am this morning. Click pics for full size.

Here's the east-facing side of the building....:

...and here are top-to-bottom close ups for your window-peeking enjoyment:

Edit: Ok, just spotted an actual sign of life - can you spot the giraffe??? (hint: it's in the last picture...)

That mechanical thing on top of the Foster Tower is a disgrace.
The Trump Tower is as shiny and cold as (georgeous) Ivanka.
Seems like the Bloomberg Tower has a new powerful "nuclear"lighting..
Citicorp DESERVES a reclad.
...432 makes me...HAPPY!!!

Giant suction cup contraption dangling from the roof right now - I'm guessing it's a window replacement gizmo...?
