Wow, 18" slabs in upper half of building to damp swaying from wind! That'll be some serious sound damping as well.

I closed the other thread. This thread will be moved to the Supertalls forum once we have an official or more detailed confirmation/evidence it's U/C.

So given the current fiasco over One World Trade Center, this will be the tallest building in USA.
Well atleast, its being build by private owners rather than those idiots at the Port Authority who have manged to totally muck up One World Trade Center rebuilding plans. And not only that, by 2014, this building will be taller than One World Trade Center.

Did I call this or what? Big columns of rebar going up! If this is not U/C I do not know what is. Most of the retaining walls now finished they are probably doing the columns in conjunction with side retaining walls as the column footings will butt right up against the adjoining townhouses...so it makes sense to do it all at once...looks a bit of a mess but this hole is very deep...I took a look this morning and my guess is base of footings are about 75' down...they are taking advantage of the ramp to get things started...they will need to excavate the ramp to do them all...but look for the left and right sides to go up first. Once they get footings and a main slab down they will need to erect the main construction crane before final excavation of the ramp. Can't wait to see permanent construction crane go up. U/C!!! U/C!!! U/C!!! Take up the chant!

The site is muddy, the trucks couldn't even ride onto the slope without help of excavators.
