This is "Architecture" forum, not a "Nature" forum, of course you can see some trees in the pics too.
About a garden: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garden Constructed elements of a Garden: Garden beds Paths Pool, water garden, or other water elements such as drainage system Terrace, patio, deck Lighting Sculpture, Buildings such as gazebos, pergolas and follies For example about gazebos, you can read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gazebo A gazebo is a pavilion structure, sometimes octagonal, in parks, gardens, and spacious public areas. Gazebos are freestanding or attached to a garden wall, roofed, and open on all sides; they provide shade, shelter, ornamental features in a landscape, and a place to rest. Some gazebos in public parks are large enough to serve as bandstands or rain shelters. Gazebos include pagodas, pavilions, kiosks, belvederes, follies, alambras, pergolas, and rotundas. Such structures are popular in warm and sunny climates. They are in the literature of China, Persia, and many other classical civilizations, going back to several millennia. Examples of such structures are the garden houses at Montacute House.

Such lists are meaningless. For example, Ryoanji is magnificent, but I think that the gardens at Katsura are much more beautiful. The gardens of Persia are also magnificent, but who is to say that they are better than the gardens of Versailles and Italy?
Not a true scholar's garden, and not really classical, but Yuan Ming Yuan is certainly noteworthy. image hosted on flickr

The Villa d'Este. Do we need more examples to illustrate how naive it is to make such lists?

To talk about the most beautiful gardens in the world and not even mention Versailles boggles the mind.
