A Western Region Line would be interesting. But isn't the purpose of CCL5 just that? o.o

Anyway, I swear! This is the last till after my exams! :s

OMG IT SOUNDS SO ORGASMIC.

Calling it Grand Central = More win than any interchange.
Ching chong chang ching? Since you managed to put down all the other 3, at least put down the phonetics of it! LOL
If Singapore were to have a Grand Central Station, it would most probably be the (reburbished) Tanjong Pagar Terminal connected to the proposed Express Railway line to Malaysia. The architecture and heritage of the station definitely fits the name and ambience. That's where most inbound tourists by land will end up in SG anyway...

Seloloving, your homework assignment is to complete a STARIS map, using coloured crayons, showing the EWL, NSL, NEL, CCL, DTL, TSL, ERL, Holland Line, Seletar Line, and North Shore Line. No studying for O-levels until your homework assignment is complete!

I will be slaughtered by my parents if I do that. :P

I do intend to make my STARIS map in Inkscape...after my O Levels.

Seloloving, I hope you understand that I was being facetious.

Seriously, go study for your O-levels. Stop reading this forum until your O-levels are completed. You're not going to miss much. There shouldn't be any impending big announcements from LTA. It's too soon to announce an opening date for CCL4/CCL5, it's too soon to announce station locations for the TSL, and it's too soon to announce the next lines to be built after the TSL and ERL. We'll all be here when you get back.

Alright, so I decided to give map making a shot. Apologies to Azmean though, I think my map has a bit too much resemblance to yours, but it's only because yours is too good.

I modelled my map after the current MRT map on the LTA website, and then started shifting things around to suit my style. It's not perfect, and there are probably some things that I missed, graphics wise. But I'm sure all the stations are there, and spelt correctly. I took a few liberties with the DTL3 names, was quite a bit unsatisfied with a couple of them.

Thanks sandstorm6299! I could nitpick, but I won't because this is my favourite fantasy map so far.

One of my favorites too... But I have to say however, that it's pretty close to the LTA version.

Yes, I pretty much modelled mine after the LTA version, which wasn't exactly very broken in the first place. I use 45deg/90deg angles (and its variants) only. The LTA version is how it is because of it's simplicity.

The glaring changes I made were for how interchanges were depicted, a 3 line depiction for Promenade, a more regular shape for the CCL, "chopped off" the corners at the north ends of the NSL, and a little more "geographical accuracy" at the EWL extremeties and HarbourFront.

My favorite. Very good map - I love the slight geographical detail. That's an element that I would use if I ever make a map too. I still think that the stations linked with unpaid areas should be written separately, but that's just a minor issue. Nice work!

Thanks everyone! The map will be updated again once the DTL3 names are confirmed, and when TSL locations are verified by LTA. And of course, there will be minor cosmetic changes I'm sure along the way.

The only problem I have is that the original map is actually about 7000 pixels wide and resized using MS Picture Manager to resize it by 50%, which explains why some of the text looks kinda chopped up.

Hey man.. no apologies needed. Everyone is free to make their own maps using their own ideas.

I like ur map.. very Clean and love the way you arranged the lines in the Changi/Tampines area. Can i copy dat? haha.. just kidding. I also like ur Rectangular Interchanges.. more simple.

Really nice job on your part!! I have to say though, there were some mistakes. For example for NSL, NS19 is suppose to be Toa Payoh and not Braddell and vice versa for NS18. Also, there could likely be a link between Raffles Place and the DTL17 as the Marina Bay Link is done so you can get to the MBFC directly from Raffles place underground. Other than that, excellent job!!
