Absolutely right, We can rebuild Baghdad, But we need the competent people doing the important jobs. We have to reverse the brain drain..

Baghdad has seen so much war yet still preserves so much beauty...thats pretty impressive! ...Btw what area are the pictures of the old buildings and alleyways from? i have never seen them before?

Here's a link to the old Zawraa Cinema on Al Rashid Street in Baghdad, 1944.

The cinema would showcase films for British citizens, It was one of Iraq's earliest movie houses. Among the films being shown (as you can see from the picture) is British Intelligence with Boris Karloff.

Al-Mutnaby statue

This statue is to the great poet Mutanabi who is currently on the banks of the Tigris River at the end of Mutanabi Street, which is the most famous streets of Baghdad to the books of ancient and modern and all kinds of stationery and The Statue of Mutanabi had accomplished sculptor Mohamed goes sentenced in 1978 to mark the millennium of the birth of Mutanabi.
