Hi guys, I'm currently on a holiday in Iraq (well atm in Kuwait to watch the Iraq vs Syria match which was total waste of time). and I can see there's alot of construction and projects in Iraq but i can't help but notice the lack of attention to detail.
Why are there so many construction projects while the roads and sewage systems are still terrible and no one seems to do anything about it. The basra road network is similar to that of Somalia in my opinion (Bumpy roads, dirty streets, broken pipes in the streets causes dirty sewage to run on the streets and unpaved pavements) There must be a simple explanation to why they have completely neglected these issues? Is it that they are so minor and should be done later after construction or is it just stupidity? Last edited by elusive; December 14th, 2012 at 03:33 PM. |

politics is a one word answer. Modern day iraq is all about making (stealing) money and not putting it back into rebuilding the economy. Enjoy your time in Iraq, where else are you going...Baghdad is much better
