Just go an tell it to the people who will use binoculars at a 'football specific' stadium. Of course we know they won't be able to host other events so they will be football-specific in theory and yet provide poor sightlines just like stadiums compromised by athletics tracks, speedway tracks or whatever you can imagine.

Depends on the part of the country...

Far north - Around upper/mid 20's C average

Rio/Sao Paulo - Just over 20 C average.

Far south and inland venues at altitude - Around the mid teens average

How are Brazilian clubs financing these stadiums? Is it a combination of the club and state authorities? The last I heard was that a majority of clubs in Brazil were heavily in debt.

Will the stadiums currently being built for the major clubs in Brazil have a major effect on the re balance of player movement to Europe? i.e will clubs have much greater match day revenues to use on keeping home grown players.

This stadium will be paid by the club in 10 or 15 years

The total debt of Corinthians (Today is 70 or 60 million US$)
The club collects 120 million US$ annually

Using the Municipal Stadium collects 30 million in Brazilian currency (20 million US$) only with tickets

G. Manetta Marquezin is right. Corinthians just received a gift from São Paulo prefecture.

First of all, Corinthians don't have a stadium. With the WC, Lula (former president of Brazil, and Corinthians supporter) was able to do his scheme, and deliver this stadium for his club. The city hall just exempted R$420 millions (about 260 million dollars) from taxes, and will finance another R$300 millions (nobody knows how the debt will be paid). Is it just a coincidence that Odebrecht, constructor of this stadium, is the same that did most of federal works during Lula's government?

They have the pretext of "giving evolution to the region of itaquera", but with a private property? a stadium? lol When people are sick, obviously they go the stadium, when kids need to study, they too, go to a stadium, why build schools and hospitals?

And just to compare, the location of others stadiums in SP and the "fielzão", in the far right of the screen, that don't even appears:

Green circle = Palestra Italia

Black circle = Pacaembu

Red circle = Morumbi

Blue, green, red lines = subway

gray line = train

Corinthians R$420 million approval can yield up to R$30 million for Sao Paulo’s aldermen

Never in the history of São Paulo’s municipal chamber, has seen the aldermen work so hard for a project approval.

Even at a Friday, after the Holiday, a day everybody creates excuses for missing, the Corinthians stand massively attended.

What would be the encouragement for so much dedication into a law project that clearly harms São Paulo’s population?

R$30 million, that had been promised by middlemen related to Corinthians, to be divided between the voters.

Who told me?

An alderman, who, for obvious reasons, asked for name secrecy, but said he is sick with the situation.

“They are fully attacking... it’s not just the money, see the PT guys, whom would vote against it and now are favorable… they are finished if they don’t support”, completed.

I asked him if Corinthians chairman took part of the bribe affiance, and the answer was: “He pushed, spoke to one and another, but this money stuff, here in the hall things don’t work like this… who offers is the proper alderman… now, I don’t know who will pay, I don’t… surely someone interested.”
