Hong Kong, Scraping the summer skies

A new thread starting with some recent images of this summer.

Lai King is an odd neighborhood built right next to this highway on a hill right next to a major Container terminal.

The West side of Hong Kong (Sheung Wan, Sai Ying Pun) is by far my favorite side. It still feels real whereas the other side seems to have been taken over by malls. The more local feel with the dried seafood stores and the gloomy concrete buildings make a great combination. On the left Shun Tak Center (with the Macau ferry). In the distance Central with the 4 Seasons hotel and IFC2. On the right you can also catch a glimpse of the Western market. One of the few old buildings left standing in this area

Hong Kong well before the sunrise. Skies like these occur when we have Southern winds bringing in clean air from the South China Sea. Unfortunately the summer is nearing its end and we are back in a suffocating smog now. A multi-image pano like most of the images here. Check out the super high res!

10 image pano taken from Beacon hill of HK's West side. Have a look at the high res! Especially check out the part right under. Sham Shui Po. One of my favorite HK hoods. It's a concrete jungle that is immensely dense. If you need any electronics (knock off brands or real) the choice is immense.

The storm approached very fast while I was taking this image of the HK skyline from Olympic. I got soaked by the rain right after this.

Much more to follow...
