It's not a bad thing. I donated to his campaign and am quite pleased with his development approach. If anything, I wish he was less pro-development concerning the razing of historic buildings.

I have passed by and seen the construction; I'm curious what is being built right now in this phase?

I believe this is Phase 2 which will be a 30 story tower. Phase 3 which may have a tower as high as 680 ft. is very much up in the air. If the nearby Junior's Tower proposal gets the green light, that should obviate height criticisms about Phase 3.

Extell's First Brooklyn Project Will Be Part of DoBro's City Point

Older render of 65 story Phase 3. Will Extell take it that high? Higher....?

Quote:
Details of the third and final phase of Downtown Brooklyn's City Point development have been scarce, but the Commercial Observer brings news of a crucial detail: Extell will be the developer. The project will be a residential building atop a retail podium, and they haven't decided if it will be condos or rentals. Currently, the plan does not included affordable housing. Gary Barnett's firm is super busy in New York, but this is the firm's first Brooklyn project—and there is a chance that it could be the borough's tallest tower.

This complex has a scandanavian feel, which is undoubtedly due to the material choices. I like the clean cool finish and feel as if I'm in stockholm or something.

Looks like they're building something huge, in the middle of nowhere.

It looks like the smaller building is structurally complete.
