Nice pics. Btw, those dragon flies are not dangerous at all, actually, you could take a picture of it from your hand. If you catch it

Yeah I know they are pretty harmless but still I find them a bit scary, I know people who are afraid to use elevators and those are harmless as well I use one almost every day... But I have to admit that I am a bit fascinated by dragonflies...

Abandoned construction site...

While walking along the streets of NoviSad with my Canon I stumbled across this abandoned construction site, its close to the campus area just beside the Danube river but I have no clue what porpoise the building originally was for, but i guess it serves as a "safe house" for junkies... but not during daytime, accept for me and a man walking his dog (weird place to walk the dog) it was all abandoned... and very inviting...

Skadarlija....

Skadarlija Belgrade bohemian Quarter..

Once the home of many Serbian poets, writers, artists, and actors, the cobble-stoned Skadarlija (or Skadarska) street today hosts some of the best restaurants in Belgrade, all of which strive to preserve bohemian traditions from the early 19th century. Definitely the place to go if you want to get a feel of the atmosphere of Belgrade's old times, cruise art galleries, shop for antiques or souvenirs, or taste the best of local food.

Subotica....

Subotica is located in the very north of Serbia near the boarder to Hungary, the city has just over 100.000 inhabitants and its very multiethnic city with a majority of 35% Hungarians.
The Serbian word for "Saturday" is subota, thus the name Subotica means "a little Saturday".

I find Subotica easily the nicest city in Serbia , when compared to other cities it´s almost ridiculously beautiful....

Belgrade ZOO...

Belgrade Zoo is located in the very city center within the walls of Kalemegdan Fortress.

image hosted on flickr

This is the famous chimp called Sami, he arrived first at the zoo in january 1988 and within the next two months he escaped the zoo twice, in the first escape he simply walked down the Kralja Petra street and passed by the "Balkan" cinema with a huge dispatch of police and zoo keepers following his every step.
Hi was retrieved to the zoo by the zoo director Vuk Bojovic who after a "talk" with Sami managed to persuade him to enter his vehicle and drive him back to his cage...
During the second escape Sami didn't get any further than crossing the street and barricading him self in a nearby house block and when news of his second escape was cast out in radio and TV a crowd of more than 4000 people came to follow Samis show with the zoo keepers.

(the "chimp" to the left has to this day no recorded escape attempts... yet..)

The Avala Tower is a 204.5 m tall telecommunication tower located on Avala mountain near Belgrade, Serbia. It was destroyed in NATO bombardment of Serbia on 29 April 1999. On 21 December 2006, the reconstruction of Avala Tower commenced and the tower was officially opened at a ceremony on 21 April 2010.[2] It is currently the tallest tower in Serbia and the Balkan region.
