Well, there are many rail fans in our country since you could say it was built by the railways. Most towns far from the big cities grew along the rail tracks. The railways seeded the entire country with people.
You have to take into account that by the end of the first half of the 20th century our network reached the 100.000km of rails. The decay took place during the second half of the last century, culminating during the 90s with the dismantling of the railways (where you could see people crying in the stations while watching trains arriving to their destinations for the last time, so yes, we REALLY love our railways).
Now our network amounts 47.059km of rails, and even though more than half of the network was lost it still is the largest in Latin America and the 8th in the world.
Now this new process of rebuilding of the railways that was started a coupleof years ago, and their recent re-nationalization are giving our people hopes of having again the great railways we once knew to have. So you can imagine that if there already were lots of rail enthusiasts from the past, now there are starting to be even more! (I'm one of those newbies ).

Y por último, para finalizar al lado de la terminal el avance de la obra donde estará el paseo seco, en primer plano se ve la antigua calle de egreso/ingreso a la playa de estacionamiento y las dos pequeñas aceras que la acompañaban.

Ya está el cable portador en ambas manos, pero el hilo de contacto solo en una. El tendido se corta en alguna parte antes de llegar a la estación de Quilmes, pero lo llamativo es que, comparando con fotos anteriores mías, estoy casi seguro que retiraron las ménsulas de los pórticos próximos a dicha estación.

¿Por qué son diferentes las ménsulas de un lado respecto al otro?
