The all new VE (Volvo Eicher)Truck.

The truck seemed to be improved a lot with Volvo's transfer of technology. There is a good improvement in quality of Eicher trucks now.

Hi Sriram...A very warm welcome to SSCI.... The design and technology of Tempo Traveller is from Mercedes hence it has become one of the evergreen selling models.

Keep posting pics regularly..

The use of mercedes engine in force trax vehicles were discontiued long time back when BS 3 norms were introduced, now they use their own designed diesel engines

This is my first post on SSC although I have been a lurker for a long time now. Despite being tempted to, my laziness had come in the way of me becoming a member here. I must say that all you people here are doing an excellent job in terms of collating and distributing information related to the Indian Infrastructure scene. kadri_007's thread has inspired me to post a couple of pictures of my own that I had lying around on my laptop. Sorry for the not so great quality/angles of the pictures posted - I am no photographer you see!!

Also, some of the pictures are a touch old (mostly from Auto Expo 2010 held at New Delhi), so kindly bear with me.

What seems to be an AL tipper masquerading as a Tata...the hub caps probably hold the answer.

The Interiors of the Tata Prima - will easily give an inferiority complex to cheap Marutis and Tatas (cars) on the road today!

The Tata Winger Ambulance Model - please excuse the gentleman obstructing the full front view!

The business end of the Winger Ambulance - again sorry for the woeful timing

Nice - they look like Rosenbauer (Austria) Panther 6x6 fire trucks that all the Indian airports seem to be queuing for. I think BIAL/HIAL were first off the block followed by DIAL. Now many of the major airports under AAI too seem to be going in for them.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks Akash, I really appreciate it.

Here are some more.

An MP registered truck plying the streets down south.

There are trailers hauling heavy stuff and then there are trailers hauling HEAVY stuff - both in weight as well in terms of importance! Here's an Akash SAM battery hauled by Tata EX Series tractor.

A pristine white Tata Prima 3128 tractor at Auto Expo - fit and finish are miles ahead of anything previously seen or developed in this country.

er...it is from the Tata stable. Tata bought out Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Co. (trucks only - buses were/are a separate biz) a few years back and the model 'brought over' was the Tata Novus (2005).

Here is a Tata Novus plying in South Africa:

Source: TRANSPORT IN SOUTH and SOUTHERN AFRICA website.

The Prima range is the result of the Tata World Truck program which has been going on for a few years now. It is the end result of several years worth of hard work on part of employees and partners of Tata Motors - and I am sure it involves input from TDCV (as the erstwhile Daewoo truck ops are now called) as well, but this one is all Tata as far as development goes.
