It seems all the secondary (P numbered) roads in remoter areas have gone for a s**t. On the other hand, that makes for vids like this. :P

In Bosnia and Herzegovina we have low water crossings only on rural roads.

Low-level bridge at Schoemansdrif on the Vaal River (photo by Johann Jerling), you can see the river is in flood and has recently washed over the bridge. This is a minor crossing, the major ones are on normal bridges.

I do not have the exact pic but... in this photo appear two villages: Rio de Honor and Rionor. Spain and Portugal.

There are no much than 100 people between both countries.

Relation between them are very common. In fact, all "shops" are in Spain and the two pubs are in Portugal (so... you need to cross the border for anything).

In the 1970s they wanted to cut the border to avoid people leaving their countries there... but they had the problem that a lot of people lived in one side and had countries in the other side. They put a barrier and cars couldn't cross the border. But it was possible to do walking and... by the river with country vehicles.
Tractors and other country vehicles could cross the river without any problem as well as it is smal
But for a car it was impossible there

One in Puerto Lumbreras, Murcia, Spain

but is not a big issue, the river is near always dry and works perfectly as a parking

Same location except it is closed off due to heavy rain.
Just as an update these two crossings have now been replaced by a proper bridge.

An example of a low water crossing on Mexican Federal Highway 5 in Baja California, Mexico with "pavement markings".

Well when you are driving toward the "vado" or low water crossing, the pavement markings read as "Oh Shit, Dip!" as a joke.

I read it as "Oh dip shit", not "Oh shit dip".

We have one of these in Vriginia and Vdot the Vriginia Department of transporation is replacing the four foot high bridge 600 foot long bridge it sits on with a 15 foot high bridge and a much higher roadway which is far safer. I really think these things are death traps.
Here is a link to the highway project in which they are going to get rid of this low level river crossing with something much nicer.
