Infranerd, that isn't their official website, but nonetheless I have seen them peddling 2,500 acres on their actual one. That probably just includes the residential developments minus the racing circuit, golf club, gardens etc. Jaypee's project page however lists 5000 acres:

Overlaying the map on the actual site reveals that the Sports City "East" parcel of land is a conservative 4.5kms long and 1 kms wide. That comes out to be ~1111 acres, so you can gauge how big the main part of the city on the other side of the expressway is.

If you guys thought that was big, check out the new 50,000 hectare Yeida City of which Jaypee's Sports City is a part of. Started a new thread for it:

IU, thanks. That illustration clearly implies it might just be around 5000 acres.

This whole development has been going in a really planned way , looks like Mayawati was busy doing some work other than getting her statues made

Hopefully the present govt. will also keep working on it and we may actually see some of the best planned cities in India coming up here !!

As has been mentioned on this forum "surest calamity" needs to be kept away from all big things.
Cheers

If it takes off, it will really give inspiration that similar such projects can take off elsewhere in India. If Dubai can Dubai Academic City/Knowledge Village, Saudia Arabia has a Financial City, no reason why India can't have several of them.

I thought Gr Noida was outskirts and would take 10 years to reach potential, then BAM ... Yeida happens...I really hope we get massive migration of middle class/upper middle class to sustain these "cities" beyond investor phase.

At the very least renders are nice.

Cheers

I've got a flat in this project, and would definitely want to move in here when I move back to India if the infrastructure keeps developing as it has
