Very nice shots. The townhouses at the top of the page are very elegant and downtown looks very pleasant indeed.

Fortunately, if you were to check the MLS you will see that there are many many condos/townhouses listed that have been developed or refurbished in the past few years, and more and more people are moving back downtown. Fountain Square has events almost every night in the Spring/Summer/Fall, and Cincy has become alive again. The old bars and restaurants that weathered the storm after the riots in early 2000's are thriving once again, and the new art scene has really exploded as well.

Chad, have you ever taken one of the "Architreks Tours" that our city offers? Since you obviously know downtown quite well you would really enjoy one of these tours very much--as they take you into little secret places that you might not have known were there. I have yet to take a tour of the old underground subway---I think it may only be a couple times a year.

Once again thanks so much for posting all of these terrific photos!

Thanks for taking a look. Yeah, I'm awate of the revitalization of Downtown via many of the blogs online. Also, when I use to go to Louisville to visit my sister, I'd often stop in Cincy. I LOVE the Italianate building stock and the topography is amazing. Sadly though, time is sometimes short so I can only cover one neighborhood at a time. Next time, I plan on hitting the Northend and the area around UC. I'd also like to see the breweries at some point. I'm German American so Over the Rhine is the neighborhood I'm most interested in. Also,. I sometimes do German mass at Old St. Marys on 13th. I haven't done the tour yet, but it's on my list of things to do. Thank for dropping by. I should have more photos in late March or early April.

Vielen Dank! Unfortunately, as a result of WWI, there was A LOT of hatred towards German-Americans and all things German. On April 9, 1918 Cincinnati City Council ordered the names of streets like Bremen, German, Hamburg, and Berlin be changed to more English sounding names. Berman became Republic, Berlin became Woodrow, and German Street became English Street. Also, all public meets were ordered to be held in English only. The same thing happened here in Columbus as well. Whittier was Schiller before the War and Schiller Park was renamed Washington Park. Thankfully, the park was returned to it's old name. It got so bad that German books were burned along Broad Street in Columbus and German Breeds of dog were slaughtered in "Washington" Park. It was a very dark period. Which is odd considering Cincy was 60% German and Columbus was I think about 25% German.

I never thought that this city is that beautiful...
the old crapers and those houses which are charming and massively built.
