I've always been fond of the Biltmore Castle near Asheville, North Carolina

You should look at both exterior and interior, and the details in centimeters!

Wow!! Some gorgeous buildings there. For me, personally, I wouldn't nominate any Neo-Classical colonial building anywhere (because they are just mimicking more beautiful original buildings elsewhere), nor any building built after World War 2, but that is just my personal taste. There are beautiful modern buildings , but not my choice for MOST beautiful in the World.

Love it.
Let me guess, you are an Indian living in Melbourne. Both of these buildings are ugly, sorry.

I really cannot decide whether I like the Mosque or whether it is just too 'busy' with all the reflections. Very impressive, in any case.

#1 for me is the Vienna, Austria Kunsthistorisches Museum

#2-Schwerin Castle, Schwerin, Germany

#3-Cartagena de Indias Cathedral, Cartagena, Colombia
image hosted on flickr

#4 Angkor Wat, near Siem Reap, Cambodia

#5 Saint Isaac's Cathedral, St. Petersburg, Russia

These are all I could think of right now. Washington has a ton of good buildings as does Paris, Rome, Havana, etc.

Taj Mahal is certainly one of the most beautiful buildings in the world, your anti-Indian attitudes can't change this fact.

I'll second that. It is on my very top list as well, if not number one. Chrysler Building would also be on my list.
