My intention here, its not tumultuate, but at the actually the Beira-Rio cant received matches (or without visitant fans). Here a video of the structure moving at the last derby versus Grêmio:

Sorry my poor english!

Sorry my poor english!
I know your intention is not tumultuate. And I am Santa Claus (do not send me letters, please )

Here are the news where the specialists guarantee that Beira-Rio has conditions to receive matches.

http://zerohora.clicrbs.com.br/rs/es...s-3868812.html
Unfortunatelly, the news are not in english, sorry for non portuguese readers. It says that specialists guarantee that Beira-Rio has not structural problems.

If you look for the Beira-Rio's pictures when it was being constructed, you will see that the superior bleachers were constructed before the inferior bleachers, and they are sustained by different foundations. So, the demolition of the inferior bleachers had not impacted over the superior bleachers.

That's normal, all stadiums vibrate. You can look for it in youtube and you will find videos of mineirao, bombonera, olimpico, etc vibrating. When the stadiums are projected, the engineers consider a phenomenon called reverberation and the structures are constructed to vibrate because if they were static they could break.

Thanks for your information, but I still prefer believe in specialists/engineers than nonprofessional people.

Once more, the authorities say: Beira-rio is completely safe.

Asked about the crack in a wall, located in the internal circulation of the stadium, filmed by a Gremio's supporter during the Gre-Nal, Capoani said:

"I found a safe stadium, despite the works. About the wall, it is a gasket which has dynamic load and play day oscillates. These joints are made to it, it just shouldn't enter the resonance frequency. And is not the case of the Beira-Rio. A stadium is designed to swing, it is designed to it.", sad the CREA's president (Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy's president).

In time: the refurbishment is 33% concluded.
They are working now on the foundations. This is the reason why it looks like nothing is being done.
Be pacient dryers, the conclusion is predicted to December, 2013. Next time give us facts, and not amateurs conclusions.

Of course they were planned to it. Beira-rio was initially intended to be a 3 ring stadium, so the structures were designed to support more than the current stadium's capacity.
What happens here is that there is a gap between the structures. The stadium was constructed in 1960's and since there were made little maintenances. In one of them, someone inadvertently filled the gap between structures with morter, that obviously was not projected to follow the main structure's movement.

Sorry but i don't like this stadium. The other stadiums of the world cup are better by far.

It´s old, oval, and the renovation sucks.

The coverage of the waterfront will be made by a membrane PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), tissue stuck to the cover. Made by Hightex, same German company responsible for the Allianz Arena, is capable of lighting effects, allowing the colors to switch to the stadium every game.

Currently being built steel structures.
On November 25, will start the assembly, to be held in modules.
