Kenyatta was an embarrsement. I have to disagree with you as matter of principle. kenyatta is and was the reason why kenya is still poor and a backward country. refused to acknowlegde the role of mau mau in the fight for independence. betrayed the likes of odinga and other independence activist by encouraging tribalism, corruption, nepotism land grabbing and so many other evils. he usurped the powers of the senate (with the help of traitor tom mboya) to make himself an all powerful presi.-dictator.assinations of pia gama pinto tom mboya jm karuiki and a host of other kenyans. If kenyatta is your hero then you must have been a beneficary of his evil deeds.sorry.

Once you mentioned Odinga,I got an idea where this was coming from and where it may lead.I will be very brief.Odinga snr.was a bloody communist and a rebel in heart. He could not be trusted for the sake of the nation. You know the fruit doesnt fall far from the tree?
Anyway, this thread is a tribute to Kenyatta, his good side.Keep it that way or keep out.Forgive my rudeness.

typical kenyan egocentric response.not surprised kenyatta is your hero.surprise am not a big fun of the odinga's or tom mboya.Am in line with whats best for kenya.Hilter killed jews but at same time transformed germany into one of most industralized countries in europe.truth is kenyatta had the chance to lay the frame work for a better kenya,he choose not.his evil deeds are well known. his land reforms left him as the largest land owner with large parcels of land being given to his relatives and friends, referred to by some as the "Kiambu Mafia."
the absurd resettlement of many Kikuyu tribesmen in rift valley continues to threaten the stability of kenya.distribution of kenya's revenue was centered around the kiambu mafia.he set a bad example looting govt-money which was and has been perfected by lucifer MOI and caveman kibaki.this group of kiamu mafia became and remains one the wealthiest, most powerful and most influential class in Kenya to date.they are the unkown factor that has held the country back, blocking reform and change.or progressive leadership is assinated or silenced. First its unfortunate what this thread is turning to be. Kenya politicians whatsoever are merely interested in survival and their stomachs(Self-Family-tribe), they do not merit any credit(by enlarge). I understand the heat that a thread like this can generate but there are ways we can discuss issues out as students of history, you cannot change the past but you can determine the future. Mzee Kenyatta deserves his place in history as the father of the nation regardless of the shortcomings that his regime may have foresaw. Mwanamwiwa has earned his place in this forum and we appreciate his contributions, its unfortunate for you to appear like a full moon and unprovoked and just dumpens someone's spirits. If you cannot engage your collegues in a constructive manner, Iam sorry this may be a wrong forum or better begin a counter thread and let the interested people participate.

Are you a communist by any chance? I only wish he had been alive to take over Kenya instead of Moi. But thats just my opinion. True, kenyatta was no saint but he did do good things for Kenya. I think its best to focus on that instead.

communist no.tom mboya's case is a diffcult one.maybe i shouldn't have used the word traitor.tom mboya was the brains behind creation of an all powerfull president. he played too many political schemes tring to please so many people around kenyatta. he got smoked for all his contributions.to be fair kenyatta did some good stuff.my point is kenya shouldn't accept greedy political leaders any more.china was in kenya's position in the 60s.well look at a china now-40+yrs of strict disciplined leadership despite oppression of some fundamental rights.of course corruption exit but punishment is stiff.fishing villages transformed into mega cities-highest number of millionaires in the world and yet they're communist.compare that to india.corrupt greedy bickering visionless leaders.they're changing but old habits die hard.

let me give you a word of advice, be very very careful before making these grandiose statements. it is easy for you to sit there and talk about truth and justice but when you actually have to unambiguasly state exactly what is the truth and what is justice thats when it dawns on you that talk is cheap. just some friendly advice |
