The square that's part of the LEP will be a pretty shitty place with 100m+ walls on every side.

It is within the APDG (Alfred/Pitt/Dalley/George) site but it does not conform to the masterplan currently being processed. As Cul said, developer is trying to slip it through before the masterplan can be formally approved.

^ GFC part 1 never ended, it has just morphed into Great Depression 2 (for the Americans and Europeans that is). There is absolutely no way to avoid debt deflation no matter how hard anyone tries. It's just a matter of what type of impact it has.

Anyway, back on topic, I'm actually fkt off by this. I'm totally behind the concept of the APDG masterplan. This isn't something to celebrate just because we get another Sydney standard 150m or so apartment block. I hope this dies in the arse!

It would be useful to see 19 Pitt in the context of the APDG masterplan model.
Subtle enough?

Another tower on top of the four proposed for the rest of the block. We are starting to move at last.

The developers certainly are capitalising on the opening up of views down Pitt Street with the Valad Tower set to open up the views. It looks like it will complement the Valad Tower itself.

I like how the balconies face towards the northeast to capitalise on the views.

So what is the likelihood of this getting the green light?

If the SCC is serious about keeping a lid on its CBD height limits and maintaining the concept plan (whether adopted or not) at Barangaroo, this proposal should be rejected for breaching the height allowances by a considerable margin. If not, then that's just a bit hypocritical isn't it.

I will await some more detailed renders before making up my mind. But in relations to Goldfields House, when it is replaced, what is the likelihood of the new tower blocking all (or at least most) of the harbour views? Let's just hope that if this is the case and it IS approved, the Valad Tower doesn't drag the chain...otherwise we could have a NIMBY hot spot ala Beau Monde in North Sydney

Oh and if this is part of the APDG Site and it has gotten its own thread, why then are we intent on keeping every little detail for Barangaroo in the one thread? I think once the DAs start coming in for Barangaroo we should create separate threads.

We may in the future split up barangaroo thread once we know each individual towers under construction. So a thread for each development. Just like the World Trade site developments in supertall forum.

That way we can discuss progress of each developments instead of combining together.
