Btw, is there something like a national conservation institute? Or private societies that engage in keeping Indian heritage? Someone has to be aware of and save this sheer abundance of gorgeous treasures!

There is Archaeological Survey of India, but they are mainly interested in maintaining ancient sites and major monuments (like world heritage sites)
