Quote:
- Bar Roža near the Ljubljanica river and near the Kongresni trg (which is currently being reconstructed), - Sir William's Pub between the Slovenian Radio-Television buildings and the Miklošič Park, - Jazz club Gajo, next to the Slovenian Parliament And than you have different night clubs with mostly commercial music; - Bachus Club, also next to the Kongresni trg (but easier to find than that bar), - Inbox Club, in the Rudnik shopping area located south-east of the city centre, - Club Ultra, located opposite of the Ljubljana's Nebotičnik (Skyscraper), but it is in an alley pretty much remote of the main street. But if you like alternative music: - Metelkova mesto, located near the train and bus station, and - Orto bar, located a little further away from the bus and train station than Metelkova mesto. |

Yeah the garden is open in summer, but it's behind the opera, opposite National Gallery, not next to the parliament

In the evening I would definately suggest all the bars and restaurants by the Ljubljanica river, namely Stara Mačka, Kavarna Maček, Randevu...
Guinness pub and Irish pub are for beer lovers. The best clubbing in Ljubljana is probably in TOP, but you also have Bachus and Ultra (for a bit younger people) and on the outskirts of Ljubljana, Inbox, which is good if there are any good DJs playing. Alternative scene is Orto bar, Cvetličarna and Metelkova. And you have concerts in Križanke and Kino Šiška. Enjoy your stay!

If you like cocktails, go to Pr'Skelet (skeleton in logo) in the city center near Ljubljanica river near Prešeren square.

Hello guys. I will spend the New Year's Eve in Slovenia Vopovlje, 3km from Ljubljana Brnik airport. It is also 18km from Ljubljana, 10 km from Kranj and 7 km from the lower ski lift station of Krvavec ski area. At least this is what the leaflet I got from our hosts said.
I plan visiting Lubljana, Kranj, Bled lake and castle and possible going to Triglav natural park. What other places do you recommend? I will stay 5 days in Slovenia. Regarding Lubljana, I don't expect any museum to be open in that period, maybe the castle... Anyway, what are the main atractions there? thanks. ![]() ![]()

the main attraction is surely the city center.
It will be nicely decorated in that time and with some snow around, you will have a good time. and if you plan coming 5 days before the New year eve', from 27th to 30th December, I'm pretty sure museums should be opened. Last edited by neon1111; October 15th, 2010 at 02:22 PM. |

I would certainly suggest that you visit Ljubljana's city center and it's little december festival. There should be plenty of things to do around that time, from visiting the stands and caffes along the Ljubljanica river, to visiting the castle, the museums and galleries, and the nightlife. If you would like any specifics please point them out. Other things to do and see would be skiing on Krvavec (or other resorts for that matter), a visit of lake Bled AND Bohinj (which is in my opinion, more beautiful than Bled), and of course the Triglav national park, which offers some stunning scenery.
