Better late than never! I visited Morocco in August 2010 and had a great time. The country was unlike any other I had ever been to and I loved exploring it. Here are a few photos from my recent blog post about my time in Marrakech.

I'm off to NYC on Thursday, a few days earlier than I anticipated. No point sitting around here waiting for next week to come along.
I'll be there for a whole two weeks, and apart from the obvious attractions, I really don't know what the fuck to do. ACC, Nate and anyone else who's been to NYC, please, please give me tips and pointers. You guys know the sort of things I'm in to and what I like to see, so fire away! And make sure y'all behave yourselves when I'm gone. |

Best bet is to look at my blog Dilaz. A good 5 or so updates on Manhattan and Brooklyn with lots of tips on food and things to do. Def get out to Philly for a day. Can get a return ticket for quite cheap and it's close enough to do a day trip.
Where exactly are you staying?

heck if you are there for 2+ weeks id even consider doing a night or two in washington DC - it's only 3 hours or less and you can tickets for $30-$40 on the train. loved DC.

While we are on the subject of travel I need some advice on where to stay in Paris. I've done a bit of research about different areas but cannot decide. Just want a cool area with lots of life, not too touristy. Was thinking Montmarte? It will probably work out that I during the 10 days I am in Paris I will go spend a couple of nights in Brussels so could stay in a different place when I get back. Any suggestions?

I have stayed at a few places and this was a very well priced spot given its location.
http://www.lamaisonmontparnasse.com/ Another place which is a little bit further out (but still close enough to everything really) and quite cheap for Paris which I've stayed at 3 times is. I have a soft spot for this place. It's charming and not touristy at all. http://www.grand-hotel-nouvel-opera.com/

My number one pick for New York is the Natural History Museum. It's the best museum I have ever been to, any where on earth.
Make sure you go to Harlem as well, unique part of town, you'll be safe don't worry. Just catch the subway to 125th (or is it 126th?), get off, stroll around and eat some soul food. Another day trip is Philadelphia, it's really close, and worth seeing. |

But, it's pretty touristy indeed, I'm 100% sure there would be much better areas to stay in. It's cool, don't get me wrong, but maybe get some advice from somebody who knows Paris well, before deciding upon Montmarte. Acc? |

Thanks Acc, will definitely check those places out.
Even just advice on which areas/arrondissements to stay in would be cool too.. |
