Does China have anything like Hyperdia? That site was so useful when I was traveling in Japan; it tells you the most efficient route (including multiple lines), time schedule, and fare price all over Japan. Most importantly (for me anyways) it has an English version (also now Chinese too).

but only for Chinese.

By the way, The MOST important information when you traveling in China by train(including some CRH line) is not schedule and price, but remaining amount of ticket, especial in Golden Week and other Holiday. Because, you know...

The Ministry of Railway statement that online ticket system will be putting into operation this year(2011), but have no a certain plan schedule. so I think it's end of 2011, MoR is notorious bureaucracy agency, maybe, it's will be incorporate in The Ministry of Transport at 2020.

All you need to do is tell the ticket officer your stations of origin and destination, your date of travel and hope they don't make your life too difficult. There's usually only one routing option especially for the longer journeys, and as for prices, they always shove the most expensive down your throat.

If he wants to buy CRH tickets, why go through the ticket office? There are numerous ticket machines that have English interface. The problem is booking tickets online ahead of time, I don't think anyone in China is currently doing this, not even the largest site, CTrip. I really hope MOR will get this mess sort out this year, the process should be similar to book flights, and the demand is so high that huge lines are bound to happen all over China in three weeks..

Wow, i'm looking forward to seeing how they will overcome the problems regular rail has at such high speeds.

Maybe they will just change the wheels after every trip?

Canada? If there's an HSR line built anywhere in Canada by the time I'm 80 (i.e. 50 years from now) I'll eat my hat.

They are over 4 months in the past. Botniabanan is running since August. It is 250 km/h rather than 350 km/h, but so is Changchun-Jilin high speed railway.

Haha yes botniabanann i forgot about that one.

But i was thinking about the one between Stockholm and Göteborg/Malmö.

But if Botniabanan is considered a high speed line then we will have a new high speed line between Copenhagen, Køge and Ringsted in 8 years time.

The article only indicates that those countries expressed interest in this train, because it's the only CRH in China that can operate normally in -40C temperature. I don't think any of them have serious intention to purchase one in the future.
