First of all this is the wrong thread.
Here is the article, and there is nothing that says "official," only unnamed sources, so it's still speculation at this moment, you sir, is a master of stating rumors and opinions as facts. Having said that I believe what the article described is the most likely outcome.

i should think that they will be.... the problems are, after all, fixable and are not uncommon on newly introduced stock. all new trains go through their teething stages. take for instance the PL42AC diesel locomotives for NJT. they started off pretty rough, but after a few years, they run pretty smoothly.

CRH380CL is the 16 coach version of the Velaro CN, if I'm not mistaken? We'll be seeing similar trains in Europe soon, when Eurostar gets their e320 trainsets.

It's China's own modification of the trainset, and is to utilize Hitachi propulsion instead of Siemens propulsion. It also has a redesigned nose, but other than that, it looks just like the Velaro

And it is therefore the most beautiful Velaro ever build (redesigned Velaro coach with Japanese propulsion still keeps it a Velaro in my opinion)

Last monday I took the G2 from Hongqiao to Beijing South and loved all 4hrs and 48 minutes. Smooth and relatively silent ride. Wasn't too happy about the CRH-TV though as it was not optional (headphones) and 2 + 3 seating is also not the most comfortable I have been in a train, but seeing that the train was chock-a-block full, I understand the need for it. All in all very impressive.

As of September CNR Changchun is manufacturing CRH380BLs at the rate of four trainsets per month, however delivery of these trainsets are suspended. I doubt they are back in service yet, probably not gonna happen for a while. During the national day holiday most of the temporary G trains put into service are CRH380A/ALs.

Depends on what you call "beat" TGV.

Yes, the CRH trainsets hold the world record for the fastest unmodified high speed trainset (I believe somewhere around 486 km/h). However, it's still Alstom/SNCF/RFF that hold the world rail speed record with 574.8 km/h, achieved with a modified TGV Duplex trainset with components that ended up in the AGV.

Finally, a clear and crisp (in terms of audio) clip of the CRH380AL set accelerating. Any word on the delivery status and service assignments of these trainsets? The wiki pages have been pretty neglected in respects to this area of information.

It seems as of 4 days ago, CRH380BL sets have begun to return to service? unless the videos I have been viewing on v.youku.com which were uploaded 4 days ago were shot back in august.

Chinese high-speed trains return to service
Sunday, November 13, 2011

THE 54 CRH380BL high-speed trains withdrawn from service due to poor reliability are gradually resuming operations on the Beijing - Shanghai high-speed line, with all of the trains set to return to service by early next month.

While the CRH380BL was not the same type as involved in the fatal Wenzhou crash, problems were reported with the trains at the same time and they were all withdrawn as a precaution. State-owned media agency Xinhua reported that these problems have since been identified and resolved.

"After a three month process of modifications and repeated tests, previously reported problems with the CRH380BL trains have been fixed," Xinhua quoted an unnamed railways ministry official as saying. "Operations will gradually resume. If everything goes well, all the recalled trains will resume service by December 6."

CNR spokesman Mr Tan Xioafeng said at the time of the withdrawal potential flaws and quality issues were detected in the train. These included false alarms, a loss of power, and a suspected crack in an axle, although Tan denied it was a crack.

Earlier this year CNR said it decided to suspend delivery of the train citing flaws in their automatic braking systems. The company blamed the problem on quality defects with outsourced parts and components, but did not identify the suppliers in question.
