Would that be a test to achieve record speed or just an ordinary trainset/line testing?

I can't wait to see a video of this train running at extreme high speed. Seems hard to find information about this train. Hopefully they've figured out how to run this thing at 500km/h economically.

Well it's not designed to operate economically at 500km/h, it's simply an experimental train to explore technological innovations for very high speed trains. What it hopes to achieve is to develop technologies that will trickle down to commercially available HSR trains to make them safer and more efficient.

Jesus what on earth is that design?
Let's try to pick apart this hodgepodge:

Headlights and underbelly are semblant of the Velaro based CRH (forget the number)
Recessed windshield and nosecone similar to the CRH5
Doors like the E2 based CRH (again, number forgotten)

It's hideous.
Whoever designed that... I mean, did they even hire designers?
(Sorry to be so combative, but really, on a brand new HST, looking that bad is pretty much unacceptable)

Here is another one, suppose to compete with CRH6 High Speed for next Gen 200-250km D-Train service. Personally, I think it's ugly as F--K.

CRH6 High Speed in comparison looks much better.

Why does that train have blinders? Is there a reason to limit the field of view?

Very interesting design on that CRH3G. What is the CRH3G anyway? Never heard about this before. I only like the look because it's unique and adds more variety to the CRH system.

My favorites are still the CRH500, CRH3(Velaro) and CRH5.

We seem to be getting fewer and fewer ahead of time notices of train set development from China. Disappointing.

Basically a more efficient, high volume, slower speed trainset.

Well a train is very much like a horse in that it has to pull ahead and not be subject to distraction, so it should not peek at other trains, as much as horses should not peek at other horses - blinders help achieve this.
