just a corrections Elizabeth already a Queen in that picture not a princess

and the below picture is Sheikh Saqr bin Sultan Al Qasimi of Sharjah

and i think its a speach he made in the 50s when he became sharjah ruler.

some one took some great pictures of dubai of the 1970's. Look how poor was dubai back then.

It's shocking. To get such a contrasting history of my country, the UK, you'd have to go back 200 years. In Dubai, you have to go back only 25 years!

on a different note, these pictures got me thinking that Dubai was acutally really slow to modernize itself compared to other gulf cities. By the mid 70's cities like Riyadh, Jeddah and Kuwait city had very modern infastructre placed.

It's shocking. To get such a contrasting history of my country, Holland, you'd have to go back 200 years. In Dubai, you have to go back only 25 years!
