uh no comment, time will tell. magical things happen the games have never been to africa EVER, its time will come, and when it does, it does, but until you should do some reading as you clearly cant tell cape town apart from africa, ur opinion is based purely on your stereotype of view of what cape town is like, read what dick pound has to say, cape town is the only city from africa ever to make a shortlist not even cairo did for the 2008 bid furthermore dick pound says south africa is the only reasonable africa country who could host the games he goes on to state the cairo lacks a lot of the infrastructure needed, apart from that you should read the IOC report for the 2008 applicant cities, im done arguing or comparing or saying cape town is better, i feel or it is my view that dubai certainly wont get 2016, its not neccesary for me topoint out that the IOC wont give the games to a country that sends about 5 athletes ( i cud def be mistaken) to the games and a city that is located in the middle east is too much of a risk for now, but dubai winning 2016 is ur dream as cape town wining 2016/2020 is my dream and i will not attack you based on that.

as for giorgios i felt 1996 should have simply been handed to greece i didn see why there was even a bidding process as for a games in athens every 10 olympiads i can agree with that! it just makes it all the more special, as for cape town it might lose in 2016 and 2020 but until cape town does host the games be it in 2020 or 2032 i will be there and the world will watch, and cape town will be that city, the dream will continue, welldone to athens for a dream, unforgettable games but cape towns time will come, not to rub it in anyones face or to show the world but for my dream to become a reality..

Every 10 olympic games should be held in greece IMO.
Why not after all. Or why not doing like it was during old times: every 4 years in Olympie, Greece.

I'd love to see the olympics go to India or an African nation after London. Kenya although unlikely would be cool.

1. NEW YORK
2. CAPE TOWN
3. BUENOS AIRES
4. RIO DE JANEIRO
5. ISTANBUL
(im really not sure about a european city but im sure one might make it into the top five on technical merits, if a european city does enter, then istanbul or rio would dorp out, )

eliminated after application stage:

kuala lumpur

Tel Aviv will probably never host the olympic, and that will probably be b/c of anti-semetic and anti-Israel excuses.

Dubai needs to grow a little, maybe 2020.

And Cape Town? Well I can see it, but I don't think the IOC will.

^Agree with above comments about Dubai^

BTW why isn't Toronto bidding for these games? I think the games might ready to return to north america by then and they'll be favorites.
