Like if Argentina isn't a third world country.

better than NY, chicago tokyo, etc. ???

i think GOOD AIRS has a chance to bid the olimpics because there has never been a south american city hosting the olimpics and Buenos Aires could be the first one. but i'd rather see rio bid the olimpics in south america.

I am sure Spain would be a great host but I don't think it should get it. It was the last wester European country (up untill UK) to get the Olympics. France, Germany, and Italy not to mention some other western Europe countries have waited far longer. The next western European country I would pick.....

1) Paris (even though I can't stand the French)
2) Hamburg
3) Milan
4) Amserdam
5) Zurich

And I think an east European city like Budapest, Warsaw, or Prague shoudl also be seriously considered.

Well as of right now NYC has said it does not have much intreast to run in 2016. If that is the case then I think the only two compelling American cities that should be seriously considered are San Fran and Chicago. Both would be dynamic wonderfull cities to showcase to the world. I have a Chicago bias but I think either would make a real nice choice.

One advantage of Chicago is there are actually a few places that an Olympic village could be put in the city limits of Chicago. With San Fran so small I really don't know if there is much room for a whole Olympic village. I could be wrong though.

I just hope the American Olmypic committe wouldn't chose a city like Dallas, Detroit, or even Miami. It is bad enough we showcased Atlanta to the world (an ok city and all though hardly world class IMO).

You should know that Argentina in almost all aspects is already a First World Country, that can be compared to Australia, New Zeland, Ireland, etc etc....we are far far ahead the rest of countries in LatinAmerica. Only Brazil ,for sure, can be compared to us.

I've got just one question:

Bids of Kenya, Italy, Japan etc. are whole country bids or just one city in each country???

In Italy I'd like Milano or Palermo. In Japan Osaka, Nagoya or Yokohama. In Kenya there is no special chose, I thimk only Nairobi :P, but Summer games in Africa is a great idea.

I am from Argentina and I consider this last post ridiculously arrogant. Argentina isn't a first world country, for christ's sake! Can you consider a country with 51% of the population under the poverty line as a First World Country? I love my country but I won't take my patriotism till those extremes. The fact that most of the population is of european origin or that has a higher level of education doesn't allow you to say Argentina is far far ahead from the rest of Latin America.

Buenos Aires is a great option, not only because Im from BsAs, Its a beatifull city, a lot of cultures are mixed in our city, beatifull structures, from a lot of european styles, the city can be adapted in 10 years to be an olympic city, aaaaaaannnnnddddddd the July 9 of 2016 Argentina will have a very waited birthday, in 2016 Argentina will get 200 years since his independence (July 9 of 1816) Actualy the city have a lot of proyects for this celebration, many of those are already under construction.

I'd love to see Tampa, Florida give the Olympics another try, they had a great presentation for the 2012 Olympics but lost out to New York in the US voting.

People who support Rio, let's not forget that for the 2004 Olympics, Bs As beat Rio's ass so bad in South America... Bs As actually was a candidate city for the 2004 Olympics... Rio has only been a pre-candidate city...

I think either Chicago or San Francisco will be the US candidate for 2016. If they are successful or not, is another story..
