I am sure the IOC would love to give to an Olympics to a city who built their venues with slave wages and questionable human rights record. I am sure there would be no fear of criticism of choosing such a location.

Dubai would be cool. Looks very inviting. Plus, god knows they got ass loads of hotel space, so no trouble housing all of the visitors.

No way that the IOC would want to answer the heat for picking a city that built its venues on slave wages.

Not to mention the lack of sporting history in the UAE let alone the region. This does influence the IOC.

The UAE is a small country. The IOC would rather give it to bigger markets and bigger populations when possiable.

The games would have to be heald in the winter, spring, or fall which the almighty networks do not care for.(unless you had EVERY venue under a dome but then what would the point of having all the games under cover for a summer games?)

If the IOC does make inroads to the Mid-East it would rather in countries like Turkey or Iran who have some world sporting history.

Sure I would. I would say that Dubai will not even get an Olympics before 2036 let alone 2016.

There are just too many more important regions and cities to host the games over Dubai that don't have hte negative connotations of slave labor that Dubai has.

You might think that most of the world will not care but you better beleive that fact is going to be highlighted by other bid cities and organiztiaons and the IOC will way to stay far away from that controversy.

What makes you think Dubai will get bankrupt? Oil is 6% of Dubai's total income, and that number declines every year. The fastest growing city in the world is booming, and check my location if you think I'm an Arab.
