They should just put every nation in a hat who hasn't had an Olympics yet and give it to some place completely randomly.

It would make it amusing to see some really dodgy games in far-flung places like Kampala, Uganda or Suva in Fiji.

I don't think Toronto has even hinted at 2016, much less said it intended to bid.

From the poll it seems that Buenos Aires is the leader and it should be. South America needs an Olympic Games and Argentina more than other countries. The only problem would of course be cost. Argentina has slowly come around since this week 4 years ago and the subsequent economic meltdown. It has posted mouthwatering growth rates in the last 3 years (although inflation has been very worrying). I believe that if the present government continues the economic programme it continues to do and pay off its debts it would be in a good position to bid for it.

Buenos Aires has the basic fundamentals necessary. Its infrastructure is decent enough for a city of its size and is a very manageable city for its size aswel. Sao Paolo is an amazing city but it has some structural problems due to its rapid growth over the last century.

If Argentina continues to do well economically as it does now until 2016, theres no reason why it shouldnt happen in Buenos Aires. Maybe it will be the tonic the country needs after the last few years. Argentinians are some of the proudest people I have ever met and it would do some good for them aswel as th Olympic spirit.

I think Chicago will try and I think we have a pretty good chance to get it.

It should be noted, however, that the choices are rather messed up and the list isn't complete.

It would be nice for Tel Aviv to have the olympics, but it won't b/c of all the anti-Israel bias.

ummm...Manila?

I mean, why not? We might not have the money or the capacity to host the olympic games at all, but it's worth a try.

We have a load of philipino nationals in my country, I guess hosting it in Dubai would be enough for them
