^ Well what i mean about centre of the universe is that almost every cuture out there has been located in Toronto. What i mean is if the olympics were to be held in Toronto, people should be preaped to "expect the world!"

I voted for Istanbul.

I wouldnt mind Durban/Madrid/Lisbon.

I would vote NO for an american city simply because they have had it many times before. Dubai could have been on my list but for the extreme summers. I know those Sheikhs there would even pledge for airconditioned stadiums but still...IMO Istanbul deserves it.

I think both LA and Chicago aren't ready to have the olympics just yet I would have prefered NY or Boston

Toronto is not even a serious candidate. There has been next to no talk around here about even making a bid.

after seeing these pics i dont think so. Dubai would hold most of the events in Dubai Sports City a dedicated village of stadiums and sports facilities - on the outskirts of the city. theres no way they'd be able to integrate the events and venues into the main areas of the city (where it would be a lot more interesting and fun) like these chicago images show.

I only wish, I mean a failed Expo bid, and a failed CG bid in Halifax! If Toronto gets it, I will dress up as a pony named Bruno and prance around Dundas Square in celebration!

There is a good overview and some photos of the locations of the proposed venues. There aren't a lot of detailed renders of the yet to be built venues besides a handful of the main stadium.

I'm portuguese but I think Lisbon doesn't need OG, neither the restant european cities on bid due to previous London 2012 and would be unfair for another continents.

I don't know much about the various proposals for the OG in 2006, but in geographical/social/economical standarts a bid for South America(I bet on Buenos Aires).

Toronto and Chicago would be another fair venues.

But it's early to think about that, I'm waiting to see the variuos proposals from over all the world.

I vote for Chicago.

I always wonder who is responsible to make the decision to pick a city and country to host an Olympic Games? What exact do they expect from any city across the world to meet their requirement to host an Olympic Games?

I hope one day, New York City, Seattle, San Diego, Portland, Boston, and Minneapolis will able to host an Olympic Games.

Why Los Angeles again? That city already host two Olympic Games in the past. I feel that another US cities deserve to host an Olympic Games too.

^ yes and this city should be toronto. Everone knows that Toronto would throw one of the best games if not the best games in olympic history. There is no other city out there like Toronto, you just have to be there to experience it and then you'll understand what I mean.

Well if we are destined to throw one of the best OGs in the history of the event, I guess we can wait.

Chicago 2016 looks excellent, but the Olympic stadium could do with some improvement. The rowing strips of water look stunning from the air, and I think it's time for USA to host another Olympic Games

2016 is time for South America and Bueno Aires !

Fact about Chicago's bid : 1920 olympic games were in beginning programmed in Chicago. 2020 would be more symbolic.

Funny stuffs : It would be incredible to see the mayor of London giving the olympic flag to mayor of Bueno Aires since both countries don't like eachother. If Paris win for 2024 games (1924 centennarial), it will be a particular moment for mayors of Chicago and Paris since the windy city was founded by a french.

1904 not 1920 were awarded to Chicago originally...
