I dont believe in Doha as Well !

The country wont be select only for money... have a lot factors and i really dont think that a coutry that not receive more than 2 million of people per year can support one event like olympic gamessss!

The asian games ... it wasnt a olympic games level .... The stadiums was not bad ... but not good too

I dont think that Doha or qatar can better ur structure like China to realize the games!

China spent almost 80 billions .... Qatar have petroleum but .... I dont think that have a lot of many to spend in the games

If Doha was to host the Olympics, put it in the Spring or Fall.

With all the interesting projects going on in the region I bet they could build stadiums with the type of climate control that would make everyone comfortable.

I would love a Rio Olympics in 2016, but Brazil really ruined any hope of that happening. After the outright hostility displayed by Brazilians throughout the recent Pan American Games there, I doubt anyone could stomach a return to Brazil. Everyone is disgusted by it, and you can count some Brazilians in that group too. What a shame.

Unfortunately, a Chicago win will doom Toronto's chances in 2020. Toronto has stated it's intention to bid in 2020, but not if Chicago wins 2016. I don't think I can bear it. The ducks never seem to be lined up right for Toronto. Bid rigging is largely suspected in losing the 1996 bid to Atlanta. No one was ever going to beat Beijing in 2008 even though the IOC insisted the bid wasn't locked up already. 2010 Winter Olympics are in Vancouver, so Toronto thought it impossible to win a 2016 bid. Now Chicago seems likely in 2016, so we may have to wait till 2028.

Toronto will eventually get it, I was heartbroken when the 2008 bid failed. All the Olympic fans in Buffalo want a Toronto Olympics very badly.

Chicago has debuted its new olympic logo, similar to the torch design, but with a Chicago star (see Chicago city flag) in the middle. With the same colors, they can keep some of their old advertisements, and hopefully switch to the torch logo should they get the games.

Perhaps with the olympics, chicago can add a 5th star to its flag (to go with Ft. Dearborn, the Chicago Fire, the 1893 Columbian Exhibition, and the Century of Progress Exhibition)...in an olympic staggered fashion even.
